Bio
I started my online business journey over 20 years ago. Since then, I've founded an online gaming network with over 500,000 players, an ad network with over 1bn monthly ad impressions within the first year, exited multiple companies and ran a SaaS company with over 150,000 small business owners, among other projects. My expertise lies in content marketing, SEO and growth hacks as well as remote teams. By combining my technical skillset with my marketing know-how, I created high-converting landing pages and lead magnets as well as side projects that drive traffic to my companies. I've hired hundreds of affordable and high-quality content writers, virtual assistants and team members over the years. Whether you try to launch or grow your SaaS, create a remote team, set up effective content marketing channels or want to explore programmatic SEO and growth hacks, I'm happy to chat!
Expertise
Bootstrapping
I've bootstrapped most of my businesses in the past 20+ years: * BlogHandy.com – a no-code blogging platform * InvoiceBerrry.com – an online invoicing tool used by over 150,000 small business owners * Device[9] – A cookie-less AdTech company used by some of the biggest AdTech companies in the world (Exited) * An online game network with > 500,000 players in the German-speaking market (Exited) * Deloo – an online ad network with > 1bn ad impressions in the German-speaking market (Exited)
Building a team
I have built multiple remote teams over the past decade, mainly around content marketing, virtual assistants, operations, customer service and general marketing teams.
Content marketing
One of my strengths lies in content marketing. From hiring high-quality but affordable content writers from around the world to using SEO tools for finding lucrative keywords and niches. Creating SOPs and setting up systems for remote content marketing teams, doing keyword research, brainstorming content ideas and repurposing content on various platforms are all things I've done over and over.
Conversion rate optimisation
I've run A/B tests, done onboarding breakdowns, used screen recordings for product improvements and analysed heatmaps for landing page optimisations.
Growth marketing
Some of the growth marketing hacks I've done in the past include setting up templates and calculators, gaining social followers for access to content, using scrapping for cold outreach, using Fintech bank Revolut for cold marketing outreach (before they fixed that loophole), running directories and programmatic SEO tricks to gain SEO power.
Link building
I've guest-posted on some of the top marketing blogs in the world, such as Jeff Bullas, Campaign Monitor, Active Campaign, and more. I've also built thousands of links via link partnerships, swaps and growth hack methods.
No-code
I've used no-code website builders as well as automation tools, such as Zapier for years. I also founded a no-code blogging platform, called BlogHandy.com
Remote work
I've run a fully-remote team for about 6-7 years now. Before that, I've had remote team members for over 10 years. I've set up tools and processes to make remote work function efficiently.
SEO
Most of my companies have the majority of their website visitors via SEO, hence I have a focus on content marketing and link building as well as general SEO. I've worked with SEO tools, programmatic SEO and SEO growth hacks for about 15 years now.
Toolkit
Ahrefs
10 years of experienceAhrefs is one of the top SEO tools for researching keyword ideas, hidden opportunities, backlink profiles, doing niche research and checking out competitors. I've used the tool for years to create content calendars, do keyword research and come up with hidden content ideas.
Buffer
12 years of experienceBuffer is a great social media automation tool. We've internally used it for many years and one of my SaaS companies, EvergreenFeed.com, is a plugin for Buffer.
Google Analytics
20 years of experienceGoogle Analytics is a great tool to analyse visitor flows and with the newly launched GA4 there is a lot of confusion. However, with a few clicks you can actually set up the 80/20 of analytics and track your most important landing pages and visitor flows.
Google Webmaster Tools
17 years of experienceGoogle Webmaster Tools is a powerful and free way to analyse keywords and learn about rankings directly from Google. With the help of Webmaster Tools, I analyse keywords that rank and improve their ranking.
Hotjar
9 years of experienceHotjar's screen recordings and heatmaps revealed a lot of hidden issues in my SaaS in the past and helped to streamline the UI/UX. Design and development decisions should always be backed up by real user data and recordings.
Mailchimp
16 years of experienceI have used Mailchimp's transactional email service, called Mandrill, for various projects for over ten years. Mandrill offers industry-leading deliverability.
PHP
27 years of experienceI've coded hundreds of websites and projects in the past 25 years. Some projects served millions of visitors every month and tens of thousands of simultaneous connections. I'm a problem-solver who uses PHP to find solutions to problems.
Semrush
4 years of experienceIn recent times, I switched between Ahrefs and Semrush for SEO, backlink and keyword research. Both tools are great for the job. I also used Ubersuggest and Serpstat.
Stripe
15 years of experienceI've worked with Stripe since the first day they beta launched in the United Kingdom. Since then, I also became an exclusive partner with InvoiceBerry and we're listed as one of their partners on their website.
Trello
12 years of experienceWe've used Trello for project management, content calendars and various other tasks for years . Whether automation, sharing boards with guests or Zapier integrations. I've done it all with Trello.
VWO
7 years of experienceVWO helps to set up A/B testing. After Google's Optimize tool sunsetted, VWO offers a great alternative for small and medium-sized websites to run inexpensive A/B tests.
Youtube
6 years of experienceYouTube is the second largest search engine in the world, after Google itself. Using YouTube effectively, can result in a lot of high-converting website visitors.
Zapier
12 years of experienceI've been a Zapier user and development partner for years. At InvoiceBerry, we have a Zapier integration, so I also know the backend of it. I've created dozens of YouTube tutorials on Zapier and helped thousands of business owners with their automation over the years.
