Thibaut Briere
Growth marketer and entrepreneur in Southeast Asia
Had a great session with Thibaut about growth and product-market fit. I came away with some very solid new ideas that I hadn't thought of and I think make for very strong next steps as we figure out this product-market fit puzzle. Also, i could tell he was geniunely intrigued by the problem we're trying to crack and enjoyed being in problem-solving mode. HIghly recommend!
Thribaut was very helpful in sharing his knowledge on go-to-market strategies and tactics. He provided very practical/actionable advice on finding, targeting, and measuring the response from target customer profiles. Highly recommended mentor!
This session was awesome. Thanks to Thibaut I have a clearer view on: * Product Marketing * Outreach strategy * Content Marketing * Inbound Marketing Both on the conceptual level and with actionable insights. It was interesting to see his view from Marketing with a coder/tech background.
Bio
Hey, I'm Thibaut š! After 6 years as a developer and tech evangelist in startups, I have been eating, sleeping and breathing B2B growth and marketing for the past 15 years in the US, Europe and Asia. These past 4 years I've been based in Singapore where I help early stage startups in Southeast Asia define and execute their growth and marketing strategies. Areas I focus on: STRATEGY Building a meaningful plan of action, with emphasis on experimentation and creating loops. I've done a lot of work on positioning and messaging, especially for highly technical products (cybersecurity, AI, blockchain, etc.). Not that easy for early stage startups, but after having done it for over 50 in Asia, I have a solid process that really helps. INBOUND That includes strategy, research, content ops, copywriting and behavioral sciences. Heading this for Cisco in France got me to the bottom of it, and since then I've done it a lot for EdTech, B2B SaaS, HRTech, or Cybersecurity startups. One of my favorite areas of marketing. SOCIAL Tbh few startups do this effectively. I focus specific uses: test ideas, product launch and community engagement. COMMUNITY I've built an run communities of various sizes (both business and personal btw). Examples include "French Tech Singapore", "SG Founders" slack or "Makan For Hope". With these communities we raised more 125K for charities, organized hundreds of virtual events, helped our founders raise Millions, organized a hackathon in a boxing ring. You get the idea. COLD OUTREACH If you're in B2B this will be one a key pillar. I've sent dozens of millions of emails, still trying to get this right :)! Anyways, I love marketing but it's become increasingly complex over the years. So I try to keep it simple and make it work so that it deliver results. Let's do this š„!

Toolkit
Ahrefs
11 years of experienceAhrefs is one of the best tools out there in my opinion. I've been using it at several companies large and small, and for a variety of usages. Great tool for anything content marketing, market research, competitive analysis.
ConvertKit
6 years of experienceI've been building and growing a newsletter on Convertkit. This is my tool of choice at the moment. The use of tags especially is super intuitive, and I love the community behind the product.
LinkedIn
15 years of experienceLinkedin is a great tool when you know how to use it. It took me a while but now it is a daily source of knowledge, new connections, and business. If you put in the work, it definitely can work for you.
Mailchimp
8 years of experienceI have been managing the Mailchimp account for one of my community. Honestly not my favorite tool, as I find the UI a bit clunky, but it does the job -and has a lot of features, if that's what you're after.
Industries
Consulting
I worked at a few B2B SaaS startups and had others as clients. I've seen very different situations, from acquisition nightmares to retention issues, to activation headaches. User psychology is paramount!
Consulting
I've done a lot of B2B, and I love it. From B2B SaaS to Cisco kind of hardcore B2B, challenges are typically in the customer knowledge, branding, positioning and messaging, and sales and marketing alignment. Setting up proper outreach is also paramount for this kind of business.
