Steven Sheiner is regarded as an industry visionary in data-driven marketing, sales, and monetization strategies.
With over 35 years of senior executive management experience, Steve successfully built several start-up ventures into high-growth companies that either went public or were sold to strategic partners.
Most recently, he has been instrumental in creating several business verticals for companies in the Robotics space, adding lucrative extensions to their core business.
Steve formerly served as the Chief Revenue Officer of Vivendi Universal Net USA. (VUNet USA), a subsidiary of Vivendi Universal (NYSE: V). This division consolidated online music, games, entertainment, and education. Websites under this group included MP3.com, EMusic.com, GetMusic.com, and RollingStone.com; game sites Flipside.com and Uproar.com; and sweepstakes sites IWin.com and VirtualVegas.com.
The unit provided online applications and infrastructure technologies to promotional sites serving record labels, filmmakers, studios, games, and education. Before being appointed CRO of Vivendi Universal Net USA, Steven was the founding executive vice-president of MP3.com (NYSE: MPPP), the first, preeminent digital music provider on the Internet. While building creative revenue design and marketing strategy for one of the highest-profile Internet companies in the world, MP3.com went public in 1999, resulting in the largest IPO for an Internet company at the time, raising almost $400 million. He skillfully navigated MP3 sales and marketing through a difficult period before the sale to Vivendi Universal for $370,000,000, which subsequently hired him as a key executive.
Previous to MP3.com, Steven was brought in to develop the marketing strategy for Tickets.com, Inc., an Internet business-to-business ticketing solutions provider for live events with proprietary software and an integrated distribution network to include the Internet call centers, interactive voice response systems, and retail outlets. ---which sold to Advantex. Steven served as Senior Vice President of Sales for Aegis Communications Group, Los Angeles, one of the USA's largest teleservices and database management companies.
This company was also successfully sold to Thayer Capital. He was President and Founder of Sheiner Direct Marketing and Advertising, Inc., which developed innovative promotional channels. He specialized in database and direct marketing, with clients ranging from IBM, Wells Fargo Bank, Dunn & Bradstreet to Farmer’s Insurance.
As Vice President of Sales for Redi Refresher, Steve hired and trained a sales force of more than 5,000 throughout the US. His position as Vice President of Sales for Vendking International Ltd, Montreal, Quebec, increased sales by 500 percent within two years and established his early talent for creating winning strategies through innovative thinking.
