Architect & Builder of Data & Analytics Teams and Infrastructure | Ex-Rocket Internet
Bio
Hi Everyone! I am an Architect & Builder of Data & Analytics Teams and Infrastructure for ambitious consumer companies 🚀 In the last 15+ years, I worked across the Globe for Startups, Corporates, and in Consulting. As Head of Business Analytics at Rocket Internet, I built Data & Analytics Teams and Infrastructure for 7 portfolio companies in 15 countries, including Zalando, Lamoda, Lazada, Dafiti, and Zalora, and hired Data Professionals across the Globe. As a “Swiss Army Knife” for Data & Analytics, I supported 40+ leading consumer companies globally. I work with Management & Business Teams on Strategy and execute the Strategy by building or re-building Data & Analytics Infrastructure. My focus is not on building the world’s fanciest data stack but on driving business impact - such as decreasing Customer Acquisition Costs (CAC) or increasing Customer Lifetime Value (CLV). I joined Growthmentor to exchange regularly with different growth and retention specialists, learn from you about Growth Marketing, and share my experiences in supporting Marketing teams with their Data & Analytics needs. 5 years ago I moved from Berlin to Taipei. So if you ever need any travel tips for Taiwan - hit me up! Also, feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn if you like. Nice to meet you all!
Expertise
Building a team
Built Data & Analytics Teams on every continent - except Antarctica. Hit me up if you need help deciding how to set up a Data & Analytics Team, who to hire, how to organize roles and responsibilities etc
Data science
I have 15+ years of experience building predictive models for Customer Churn and Customer Lifetime Value Development, Recommendation Algorithms etc. My specialty lies in setting up a solid Data Foundation to make building these algorithms possible
Remote work
As an independent Consultant I work remotely from the beautiful island of Taiwan mostly with European clients, so I'm fairly familiar with remote working setups. I travel 3-6 months per year while working remotely.
Technology and tools
I'm familiar with a very wide range of Data & Analytics Tools of the "Modern Data Stack" - Databases, Data Collection, ETL Tools, Data Visualization Tools etc
Toolkit
Google Analytics
17 years of experienceStarted using GA back in 2010 at Rocket Internet. I've recently done a few migrations from Universal Analytics to GA4. I'm not the best at actually using the Frontend, I work mostly with the APIs and the GA4 BigQuery Stream
Google Tag Manager
15 years of experienceI wouldn't say that I'm a Grandmaster of Tag Manager but I have done a few setups. My strength lies in being able to connect the dots between what data is needed in a Data Warehouse and various BI tools and knowing how the data needs to be tracked to make that possible
Tableau
8 years of experienceWas developing on Tableau for about a year on a client project, mostly in the backend, not so much building reports. So, I won't be much of help on Frontend stuff, but more on the backend side if things
