Sam Eisenberg
Co-Founder @ Design For Decks ($3b+ raised) & Exponential Care (Healthcare SaaS)
Sam is one of the greatest pitching minds in the world! And not in a salesy way. He's just incredibly empathetic. For example, he offered to check my deck before the call but said if I'm still actively working on it to leave it for the call (which was exactly the case). During the call, he put his brain power into high gear going as far as to generate real-time copy for my situation! I felt like he was constantly looking at the clock not to bounce, but to make sure he was solving as many of my deck problems in that single session. I mean, who does that? He stayed longer and even provided resources after the call for my next steps. I'm almost sweating writing this review cause I want to share how great Sam is but I don't think it's realistic for anyone to expect the same cause this was a beyond-this-world experience 🔝
Sam was incredible, he went through our pitch deck methodically and provided some great feedback and insights. He is extremely knowledgeable and friendly and he also gave me some fantastic pointers on where to find further information and help generate interest among the investment community. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking to found a startup!
Love it when a mentor starts a session with loads of questions to fully understand your situation. Shows you're going to get advice thats specific to your exact situation. This is exactly what Sam did. I left the session feeling well equipped with a step by step plan of what to do and was incredibly grateful to speak with him. You can really feel the extent of his knowledge and experience from one short session.
Bio
Hey GM Community, I'm Sam- born & bred in New York, followed by a decade in Jerusalem/Israeli ecosystem before moving to Budapest in 2021. I co-founded Design For Decks, a boutique pitch deck design and education firm, and am lucky to have worked with countless impressive founders & investors in building winning decks ($3B+ raised)- and have raised pre-Seed + Seed Rounds for startups I work in. I met my partner through GrowthMentor so I am particularly excited to be here and giving back to the community. Beyond Design For Decks, I keep myself busy with numerous projects (as a builder and advisor) - and get excited by just about any challenge, but specifically enjoy those that involve operations and marketing strategy. Here are a few items I can gladly help you with: ✔Pitch-decks (advice & resources)- my bread and butter. I see way too many terrible decks, even from the most impressive of founders (and investors). Let's make sure yours is a winner. ✔Effective Outsourcing - specifically support & VAs. I have worked with numerous businesses on establishing and growing their offshore support teams + VAs (mainly in Philippines) and have built a guide and system that has proven itself over and over. ✔Online courses- I worked with companies helping them do over $20M in sales through email marketing, webinars, affiliate marketing, and sales funnels for online courses/programs. So I have decent experience there. But more than anything I care about the customer experience and how to make sure students can digest, grow, and enjoy their learning experience. ✔Turning tasks into effective, scalable SOPs I would love to help you with any of the above- and anywhere else you think I may be able to be of assistance.
Expertise
Advice on funding
Co-Founder @ Design for Decks ($3B+ Raised using our decks) Raised pre-Seed + Seed for my start-ups Presentations/workshops for founder communities (Mercury Bank, Founders Institute Global, Labena Ventures, PODIM, Future Founders Club, and many more)
Bootstrapping
I've built 5 bootstrapped businesses- with varied results: 1. Multi-channel ecommerce business when I was 12 (apartysource.com still running 18 years later) 2. Cannabis growing website (I shut when I joined the military) 3. Co-founded growth marketing agency (Growth Element) 4. Co-founded pitch deck design firm (Designfordecks.com) 5. ReadWith.Love - voice cloned audiobooks for parents who can't make bedtime. Building smart, efficient, and knowing where to invest, are areas I love focusing on
Building a team
I have hired for my own and other businesses locally and throughout the world. From hiring 150+ hosts for a social impact tourism business, to building from scratch customer support teams for multiple SMEs, to finding top designers throughout the world, to bringing on VAs to optimize my own work system, I've learned a thing or two about hiring- especially outsourced and penny wise teams, with excellent results. Happy to help you with hiring & training low cost VAs.
Email marketing
Operations lead for online marketers which leveraged email + webinar marketing as core sales channel for online courses ($5M+ ARR) MaroPost, AmazonSES (with Sendy), ActiveCampaign I spent a lot of focus on understanding how to maintain list health, pros + cons of different senders, and tips/tricks to improve deliverability and (real) opens.
Toolkit
ActiveCampaign
7 years of experienceSet-up and managed ActiveCampaign accounts for my own business (Design for Decks) and for various marketers and other online businesses. We utilized AC as part of a suite of email tools (AmazonSES, MaroPost) for various use cases.
ClickFunnels
8 years of experienceBuilt and integrated sign-up and sales funnels using ClickFunnels (and their competitor, Groove.cm) for various email, paid social, and other campaigns. Power user- but I would not characterize myself as an expert.
Infusionsoft
8 years of experienceI was admin of Keap/Infusionsoft for a small company (~12 employees). We used it as our primary CRM, for order forms, product management, sales, and affiliate management. We had multiple accounts for various entities we managed. I've learned a lot using Infusionsoft and found both its strengths, and weaknesses/ limitations comparing it to other tools and in using it in tandem with different payment processors, external forms, email senders, etc.
Industries
Venture Capital
At Design for Decks, we work directly with VCs and their portfolio companies crafting investor decks, pitch-decks, as well leading workshops, masterclasses, and bootcamps.
E-Commerce
As a child I built an online paper goods store and grew it into a multi-channel (successful) store. I later worked and consulted for trainers and marketers building and selling online courses and trainings around selling on online platforms with a focus on eBay, FB Marketplace, and Shopify. Operations consultant (setting up helpdesks and improving workflows) for various online businesses- including one who I met through GrowthMentor and was acquired by Thrasio at a very healthy evaluation.
