Bio

Hey, I’m Reza 👋 Currently calling Toronto home. Over the last decade, I've been leading growth and marketing at early-stage tech companies, from Seed to Series B, in both full-time and advisory capacities. As early-stage environments demand, I've had the opportunity to delve into a wide range of marketing areas. However, my primary focus has been on customer development, product marketing, building an experimentation pipeline, and devising strategic plans for long-term and sustainable growth. This multifaceted experience has provided me with a holistic understanding of the growth landscape and the ability to adapt to the ever-changing startup ecosystem. I'm currently leading growth at Passage, an early-stage platform on a mission to knock down financial barriers for studying abroad and immigration. Before Passage, I was part of the growth story at On Deck, helping the company scale from 60 to 320 employees. I joined as the third marketing hire and helped grow our team to more than 30 marketers. My superpower (and what really gives me energy) is being the early (or first) go-to-market hire, ready to navigate through the initial challenges and set the stage for long-term growth. Taking a leap of faith early in my career, I left a predictable engineering job to start my own company, embracing the startup rollercoaster. That decision marked the beginning of a journey. I haven’t looked back since. I have a passion for all things related to personal knowledge management, football ⚽️, fitness, and nutrition. My journey has taken me to four countries across Asia, Europe, and North America, enriching my life and career with diverse experiences. 📚 Favourite books: Man's Search for Meaning, Meditations, Four Thousand Weeks. ✈ Favourite destinations: Mexico City, Istanbul, Edinburgh, Rio.
