Neil Cocker
Startup founder, advisor, and mentor
Bio
I’m an entrepreneur, consultant, and startup mentor. I’ve been working across Europe, most notably in the Balkans, for several years. My background in the music industry led me to starting a series of tech businesses in the merchandise sector. I’ve bootstrapped three businesses, sold a startup, and mentored hundreds of other businesses. I'm the co-founder of the biggest startup community in Wales, and have advised multiple national governments. The last two accelerator programmes I ran received Net Promoter Scores of 100. At the moment my main interests are my businesses, the future of cities, startup validation techniques, and building communities. Find out more - https://neilcocker.com/testimonials/
Expertise
Bootstrapping
I love helping startups come up with smart, efficient ways of growing with limited capital. I generated a six figure revenue bump for my own startup with a clever cold-email hack.
Idea validation
This is one of my favourite topics. I help startups by asking their founders "tough questions", and facilitate them speaking to customers in a way that uncovers their *real* pains.
Toolkit
Hubspot
11 years of experienceHubspot is what we used to onboard, track, and analyse customers for Ramptshirts.com, and was a really useful tool to keep all team members updated.....
Mailchimp
17 years of experienceCreating mailing lists, drip campaigns, marketing etc etc..... I;ve seen it change over the years, and become a lot more than the original mailing list manager.
Industries
Marketing
I've advised and mentored hundreds of startups, run accelerator and startup programmes, and have grown and sold my own startup. I now professionally advise many startups on the validation stage, and helping them ensure they are solving a REAL problem for their customers.
SaaS
I've run several accelerator programmes, and mentored hundreds of SaaS businesses, helping them raise millions of pounds/dollars from investors. I specialise in helping SaaS businesses understand the problems of their customers, so that they can gain Product Market Fit more quickly and efficiently.
