Bio
I've previously co-founded FitBark, an animal health company that makes wearable tech for dogs. This venture started because my co-founder and I wanted to understand our dogs better and know when they might be feeling sluggish. What started out as a Kickstarter project eventually led us to participating in the Sprint Mobile Health accelerator powered by Techstars. We've now partnered up with Fitbit and have helped owners all over the world better understand the health of their dogs. Post FitBark, I've launched various mobile apps on both iOS and Android including an app called Joyride Trivia, which is a trivia game for Uber rides where riders earn cash back while playing trivia during their trips. We built Joyride because we believe the future of the living room is on wheels and that the car is the final frontier of interactivity. The game was growing 30% MoM organically pre-COVID19 and the plan was to build a geo-targeted ad platform where we have unique access to a user's context, intent and is built on their personal device (vs. tablets in the backseat of taxis). Speak to me regarding anything startup related! Love to chat about building product, finding PMF and deep dives on user acquisition and growth.
Expertise
Growth marketing
Specifically around scaling users (once there's product-market fit) for consumer/mobile apps. Worked with a network of influencers on Twitter, IG and Snap for distributing marketing content.
Product market fit
Launched and (failed) multiple startups where we couldn't find PMF. Also created two products (@FitBark @JoyrideTrivia) where we hit the magic number (over 30% organic MoM growth and retention curve stabilized).
Toolkit
Mixpanel
14 years of experienceAdept at creating funnels to figure out insight into trends and how people are using the product. This allows us to understand what we need to do to the product next (whether it's adding/removing a feature or better designing a flow) so we can increase engagement and retention.
Industries
Cryptocurrency
Currently working as a Web3 Product Manager at an on-chain venture studio (@Decent_DAO). Have experience with setting up DAOs, NFTs and building dApps.
Mobile Apps
Previously co-founded FitBark, a Techstars company that makes wearable tech for dogs and Joyride Trivia, the first-ever game for Uber rides. Have experience with customer discovery processes and growth-marketing strategies for consumer apps.
Experience
- Blockchain
Joyride is a mobile trivia game that lets users earn cash back while riding Ubers. Built on top of the Uber API, users download the free app and login via their Uber account. The game activates every time you step inside a ride. There are 10 questions in total and if you answer all 10 correctly, we pay for the ride (via brand-sponsored trivia questions). We wanted to build games that turn your daily commute into fun, engaging experiences and started with trivia in ride-shares as our MVP.
B2CFitBark is a TechStars company that builds wearable technology for dogs. Our first product the FitBark activity monitor was launched with a successful Kickstarter raise in 2013 and has since landed in many top big-box retailers such as Target, Best Buy, Walmart and Amazon. I've worn many hats during the early days of launching FitBark but chief among them include head of biz dev and marketing.
B2CSpinny Technologies
Co-FounderCo-Founder of a small mobile game company. Ran everything from fundraising to growth and product development. Most notably we launched an app called Spinny Phone in 2016 that went viral with 200K users in four days, was called the "Bop-It For The Smartphone" by Mashable and ultimately reached top #10 mobile game in US. It was an incredible learning experience that gave us much insight into the mobile games industry and the challenges that come with retaining users.
B2CBefore FitBark, I built MatchPuppy.com which was one of the web's first platforms that connected dog owners locally through mutual interest around their love of dogs. People called us the "OkCupid for dog playdates" and we were featured on multiple press outlets including ABC, CBS, The Huffington Post and The Tonight Show.
