Bio
In a nutshell, I can describe myself as a highly motivated self-starter, continuous learner, and enthusiastic individual ready to embrace new challenges and work effectively as a team member. Past working experiences as Data Scientist in banks (my first love), telecommunications and marketing companies. Mentorship has always been a critical factor for me helping to avoid avoidable mistakes. This is one of the reasons I joining Growthmentor. I hope, that I can be beneficial to you too. Currently, I am writing my first book about “how clarity impacts our life”. I do believe, that nothing is impossible. The only reason it seems that way is because i) we did not spend the time to clearly define what it is about and-or ii) we are not asking the right set of questions. To recap, I’d love to share my learnings to date with you on - data science topics, - how to go from an idea to a proof-of-concept to creating your own business and get funded. - The importance of clarity I am sure I can learn a lot from you too.
Expertise
Bootstrapping
I believe bootstrapping is key to understand if you are willing and passionate enough on starting your journey. Bootstrapping means "getting out of the building - Steve Blank." It's vital to validate your idea from the beginning and translate it in a business model. What is the service/product? Who will be interested in buying it? What value are you delivering? How are you providing it? And so on. So if you want a buddy to validate your idea, I am here.
Technology and tools
Dublin based startup building industry-leading AVM for mortgage providers. Background in statistics and primary technical expertise in machine learning and spatial analysis. Innovating means be always up to date with tech trends and continuously search tools to increase the quality of your work. One thing that I learned if there is a tool that can help you do the job better buy it. The value you get from it compound over time than the money you are saving from not buying it.
Toolkit
MySQL
16 years of experienceExtremely common in any analytics team, SQL is a must-have language in your data toolkit. Using SQL, you can extract, transform and load data (ETL processes) create reports and actionable insights to answer business needs engineering new data by combining diverse sources and much more I started my carrier with it and progressively migrated to Rstudio and Python, but I still consider it very valuable. If you want to learn more about it, just ask :)
Python
9 years of experienceThe most versatile language used across multiple industry and field of expertise. Previous R user, now moved to Python. Python represents the common language across different teams (e.g. data engineer and data scientist). Code cleanness and clarity is the king as in any languages. Simplicity to create functional production-ready code is its success.
Tableau
13 years of experienceTableau lover! A huge believer in the power of visualisation and storytelling and there is no better tool than Tableau to do so. Data preparation, Visual cues and attention to details (Typography, colour palette, content-layout) are crucial to enhance your ability to tell stories and grab audience attention. A dashboard should look like as a picture: beautiful, easy to understand, robust in terms of content and actionable. If you cannot take a "clear" action with it, re-design it.

OtherBetAnalystics
Solo FounderBet Analytics started its activities in February 2012 and the main goal was to identify and capture price inefficiencies and specific liquidity patterns in the soccer and horse race betting market. The core solution was a mix between ad-hoc predictive models and asset allocation models able to identify the next best race and horse to invest on, the right amount to allocate in order to minimize volatility and manage risk properly. Bet Analytics used to automatically manage a huge amount of historical data and constantly improve their statistical models. Those models helped them to win thousands of euros for months and to raise a seed investment from an angel investor to further develop the technology. The following “ad-hoc” high fees applied by one of the most known betting provider forced Bet Analytics to abandon the project.
