When I was starting commercially I had a lot of experience from the open-source world where I volunteered for years as a kid. I loved free software and was quite proficient at "server stuff". This allowed me to dive into the world of software development quite easily when I was hired as a sales guy. The development company I worked for wasn't very good at delivering products so I quickly became responsible for their quality which later lead me to become its CTO after turning the development processes upside-down. Did I mention they weren't any good at marketing either? Yeah, that's why I also started playing with PPC and SEO at the time. After leaving them I started learning way more about digital marketing and doing small gigs. I was OK but I felt I needed to see how others are doing it and learn more so I got myself a job at an agency. I got some structure to my SEO game (I already knew this was the direction I wanted to go) and quickly landed a top SEO job in the country, at Allegro one of the biggest marketplaces in the world. This elevated my skills to another level. I got to see from the inside the compounded effect of many years of top SEO minds of the country at work. The level of technical finesse was truly world-leading. I was able to learn many tricks of the trade and contribute substantially to their continued growth. I also got to develop my coding skills further which comes in handy when automating tedious tasks. Continuing my journey, I recently joined PMI which is going through a digital transformation of an unprecedented scale. I provide SEO analysis, guidance, and technical solutions for over 50 markets worldwide. There are many technical hurdles working in a highly restricted and regulated industry so all of my previous experiences are really invaluable. I can help with anything from mom-and-pop shops to big enterprise websites targeting customers around the world. I love tinkering and watching my ideas come to fruition and bringing in traffic.
