relaunched Pure Web Results with a singular focus: helping ecommerce founders cut through noise, uncover hidden opportunities, and scale with clarity. I work as a fractional CMO and strategic advisor to brands between $500K–$75M, often stepping in when founders know they've hit a wall but can't see the path forward. I typically partner with three kinds of companies: Seed-stage startups (post-funding, pre-CMO): Establish positioning, messaging, GTM strategy, and the first-year growth roadmap. Help hire the first key marketing roles and agencies. Bootstrapped brands ($500K–$1M+): Solo founders who've grown on grit but plateaued. I uncover blind spots, prioritize limited resources, and lay the foundation for sustainable scale. Scaling companies ($5M–$50M+): Brands with traction but fragmented execution. I diagnose bottlenecks like channel dependency and CRO blind spots, then unify teams and agencies under one strategy. I have developed what I call the "Strategic Fragmentation Syndrome" framework to diagnose systemic friction, quantifying and resolving revenue leaks of $20K-$250K+ per month for clients. This has unlocked $47M+ in revenue from integrated organic strategies alone. I'm often described as part strategist, part diagnostician - the "outside brain" who sees what insiders miss and gives founders clarity on the best way forward.

Josh Boone
Founder Advisor | Clarity Under Pressure | Growth Without Burnout
I hesitated at first because I wasn’t sure a mentoring session would go deep enough since I didn’t want something surface-level. After working with Josh, I walked away with real clarity because he didn’t just jump into tactics. He asked deeper questions about what I’m actually trying to accomplish, what my real goals are, and how to close the gap between where I am and where I want to be, including calling out that if this is my long-term plan, there’s no reason not to start now. The feature I liked most was how he pushes you with the right questions while still giving compelling, practical examples. Beyond that, his messaging guidance was strong he helped me get sharper on my ICP and what would truly resonate he’s super clear and eloquent in the way he explains things, and the whole session feels easy and high-level because he can meet you where you are. I’d 100% recommend Josh because he clearly knows what he’s talking about and the session gives you confidence and direction fast. Overall, it was genuinely one of the best coaching sessions I’ve had.
I was going through a burnout episode. I still am, but I was honestly so overwhelmed that I almost postponed the call. I didn’t even know where to start. I felt stuck and mentally overloaded. Once the session started, Josh guided the conversation in a really natural and helpful way. The biggest shift for me after the session was thinking more about alignment, not just workload and plans, but also what kind of life actually feels successful and meaningful to me instead of just following a script. He’s very knowledgeable, but also very easy to connect with which stood out for me. Even though I still feel a bit lost, I left the session with more clarity than before mostly because he gave me good questions to reflect on, without adding more pressure or mental load. We focused on burnout, but the most useful part for me was simply being able to talk to someone who understands, supports, and guides without forcing a specific direction. I’ve read a lot about burnout before, but talking to someone who has experience and is easy to talk to makes a big difference. I’m definitely going to continue talking to Josh. This session genuinely lifted my energy and shifted my mindset in a positive way. It reminded me to think about alignment not rushing into changes, but slowly curating a path that serves me instead of draining me. So I definitely recommend him if you are on the fence about asking for help but don’t actually know where to start.
Josh is seriously invested in your long term success and took the time to learn the whole story and future aspirations. Before working with Josh, I was feeling stuck because I have too many ideas and not sure about how to position myself and create a website for personal branding. The main thing I was worried about before the session was the website name, logo, colors etc. Josh made me realize that I need to focus on the big picture and where I want to be in 3, 10, and 30 years and then work my way backwards to figure out website content and theme and it really shifted my thinking. What surprised me most about working with Josh was how deeply invested he is in your success, not just giving superficial advice. I was able to think through all I want to accomplish in my life. I’d recommend Josh to someone who is confused and overwhelmed and needs some good life/career planning advice.
Bio
I’ve spent 20 years advising founders on growth, marketing, and business strategy. I built and exited a 7-figure agency, worked with hundreds of brands, and spent most of my life in the operator seat. I’m very good at seeing strategic blindspots, cross-channel disconnects, and opportunities founders are often too close to notice. That’s the growth side of my work. The other side came the hard way. After burning out, I sold everything, bought an RV, and spent two years on the road trying to figure out who I was without the work. I live with ADHD and bipolar, and I’ve dealt with chronic illness. I know firsthand what it’s like to scale a business while your nervous system is on fire and your identity is welded to performance. Most founders book me thinking they have a growth problem. Some do. Many don’t. What they actually have is a clarity, decision-making, or sustainability problem. We work on both. On the business side, I help founders identify the highest-leverage opportunities, design growth engines, and align teams around a coherent strategy. On the personal side, I help them redefine success, process what’s really driving them, and build systems that fit how they’re wired instead of fighting it. I’m especially drawn to working with driven, neurodivergent founders who are succeeding on paper but struggling in private. A lot of founders open up to me quietly because it doesn’t feel safe to talk about this stuff publicly. That’s where the real work happens. My goal isn’t just growth, it’s momentum that compounds without burning you alive.
Expertise
Bootstrapping
I work with bootstrapped founders who’ve taken things far on grit and instinct but are starting to feel the ceiling. We look at where you’re spreading yourself too thin, what actually deserves focus, and how to grow without burning cash or yourself out. This is about making smarter bets, building leverage, and designing a business that can scale sustainably without relying on constant outside capital.
Career guidance
We step back and ask the harder questions most people avoid. Are you actually in the right role and business, or just running on momentum? Is what feels “off” coming from the work itself, the business model, mission, or how you’re treating your body, mind, and relationships? What are you optimizing in your life? What does success look like? We'll dive into all this to uncover what your best next steps are to get you on a path that balances fulfillment and wellbeing with growth and impact.
Go to market strategy
I help founders get clear on who they’re really for, what actually differentiates them, and how to bring that to market without overcomplicating things. We cut through positioning fog, align messaging with reality, and design a go-to-market approach that fits the stage of the business and the founder running it. The goal is traction with coherence, not noise.
Growth marketing
I help founders spot the strategic gaps they’re too close to see. We zoom out across positioning, channels, and execution, then narrow in on the few moves that actually matter. A big part of my work is pulling ideas from adjacent or completely different industries and adapting them into growth engines. The goal isn’t more tactics, it’s focus, leverage, and growth that actually compounds.
Imposter syndrome
I work with founders who look successful on paper but constantly feel like they’re about to be found out. We dig into where that voice is actually coming from and how it drives overwork, perfectionism, and second-guessing. This isn’t about confidence hacks. It’s about getting honest, separating signal from noise, and building enough internal trust to lead and make decisions without spiraling.
Mindset coaching
I help founders untangle the mental loops that keep them stuck, overworking, overthinking, or constantly chasing the next win. We look at the beliefs, conditioning, and nervous system patterns driving your decisions, not to “fix” you, but to make them visible. The goal is clearer thinking, better decisions, and a mindset that actually supports the life and business you’re trying to build.
Venting frustration
I help founders navigate growth without burning themselves into the ground. I’ve spent 20 years advising startups and scaling brands as a fractional CMO, but the work usually goes deeper than tactics. I live with ADHD, bipolar, and an auto immune condition, and have burned out hard myself, so I work with driven founders on the mental side of building, identity, burnout, and decision-making. We cut through noise, get clear on what actually matters, and build businesses that fit how you’re wired.
Experience
- digital marketingMarketingmanagement consulting
After exiting my agency, I took an intentional two-year break to recalibrate and explore. Purchased and renovated a vintage Toyota mini-cruiser RV with solar panels, and traveled across the US asking myself the question that would become central to my philosophy: "What would I do if I had 12 months left to live?" This journey transformed how I approach both business and life – shifting from optimization for achievement to optimization for meaning and impact. The insights gained during this period fundamentally shaped my approach to working with founders, helping them build businesses that create both growth and wellbeing rather than sacrificing one for the other.
TravelBuilt an award-winning 7-figure agency from the ground up, growing from 4 to 12 team members with 100%+ YoY revenue growth for three consecutive years. Wore multiple hats (COO, CTO, CMO) as we rapidly scaled, leading both internal operations and client strategic direction. Successfully transitioned our services from tactical work for local businesses to comprehensive marketing strategies for international corporations, government organizations, and universities. The experience of building, scaling, and exiting this business became the laboratory where I developed frameworks for sustainable growth – and eventually learned the hard lesson that business success without personal wellbeing isn't success at all.
digital marketingWeb designgraphic designMarketingVideo AdvertisingFounded a marketing agency with my partner Stephen Emsley. We focused on predominately on SEO and web design/development for small businesses, manufacturing companies (B2B), law firms, and early ecommerce brands in Dayton and Toronto where we were both based. This diverse experience across industries became my laboratory for spotting patterns and transferable strategies. This laid the foundation for what would eventually become Catapult Creative, where Pure Web Results merged with another team of marketers and creatives in Dayton.

Web Designer, SEO & Affiliate MarketerWhat began as a hobby led to designing the first website for my father's tree service. After I built his site I asked myself, "how can I get more people to his website?" and began absorbing everything I could on search optimization. This was back in the wild wild west of SEO where you could just throw some keywords up and be ranking a small business pretty easily. Soon the calls started coming in and I was blown away by the impact it was having. Other small business owners in the area began asking if I would help do the same for them, and that began my freelancing career. • Designed websites and established long-term highly profitable search presence for local B2C businesses. • Developed a network of 50+ websites of my own, driving organic traffic and revenue from affiliate partnerships.
