Dawid Zimny
Product & Product Marketing Manager
Dawid and I had a couple of mentoring sessions to talk about SEO optimization of our website and also CRO, he's been really patience and shared a lot of useful feedback for me that to start with quick wins, I implemented most of the things he mentioned on our sessions and I have already started to see the difference, I would 100% recommend him and also his newsletter, love it!
Dawid is a legend. I came onto the call expecting a few points on webpage optimisation, and came away with great ideas for a whole strategy to launch my product effectively. Dawid will give you straightforward, critical feedback that you can take at face-value and apply immediately. He clearly considered the way I could realistically use the feedback, evidenced by his in-depth and highly relevant investigation into my challenge. He also provided a useful document which summarised his feedback.
Dawid was an excellent GrowthMentor. He very much knows his stuff. As a product manager, he seems to have been through it all and acquired battle scars that he's willing to share with others to help them avoid the same fate. During our call, He broke down the problems we're experiencing into manageable pieces and then methodically provided solutions for each. I feel much more confident in my action plan as a result of speaking with Dawid.
Bio
The main things you'll be able to solve during our mentor call are: 1. Finding and solving lead gen problems on B2B websites 2. Getting started with website content creation (blogs, resource centres, etc.) and copywriting ("money" pages, landing pages) 3. Reaching alignment in your team, across departments, and among stakeholders while avoiding "design by committee" 4. Getting started with an agile mindset at your company, especially in non-engineering teams (emphasis on mindset, not frameworks) 5. Ideation, prioritisation, and tips on how to test your website ideas with your target audience Please note: I work almost exclusively with B2B companies that rely on websites for lead gen. I'm comfortable mentoring across B2B regardless of your goal, but wouldn't be confident advising B2C companies.
Expertise
Content marketing
I started as a freelance blog writer in 2018. Content is still a big part of my responsibilities, as I - along with NerdCow - believe that a "writing culture" is a huge asset for a company. I have experience in SEO foundations, writing blog content, LinkedIn posts, and newsletters.
Conversion rate optimisation
I've worked with B2B and B2C companies to improve conversions by as much as 3x, with most of my experience being in B2B. I saw through conversion optimisation projects on my own, with our internal team, and working with external CRO Managers from our clients' teams.
Copywriting
I've been writing and reviewing website copy for core pages and landing pages since 2018, including a 140+ page website where I wrote the copy for all pages by myself. I'm big on brevity and simplicity in writing.
Design / UX
I work with designers, developers, and stakeholders to deliver user-friendly website features as a non-designer. I plan and co-facilitate user tests, and I contribute to the QA process of designs to ensure they provide an optimal experience across mobile and desktop.
Idea validation
Note: this refers to website ideas, not business ideas. As part of my Product Management role, I helped design the workshops we run with clients at NerdCow. These include idea generation and validation, focusing on problem solving and team alignment. I've analysed dozens of user tests for website ideas, observing their success rates.
Imposter syndrome
As an extension of my mindset and psychology interest, I can advise you on imposter syndrome. I constantly consume content related to the topic, and occasionally feel imposter syndrom myself. I can talk to you about ways to reduce the frequency of the feeling, and talk about your concerns from an outside perspective.
Mindset coaching
I played online poker for a living from age 18 to 22, and played sports at a junior level. Mindset coaching has been with me since then because it's a crucial part of the profession - arguably more important than any statistical knowledge or being able to "read" your opponents in real-life games. I also worked with our founder at NerdCow to transition the agency to an agile mindset, and frequently consume new content around "healthy" mindsets in various areas.
Product management
I manage our productised web design service, with direct input on the tools, frameworks, and methodologies we use. I'm also in a product owner-like role in our relationships with clients, and can advise you on both.
Productized services
I contributed to creating a productised service at NerdCow, where we bill a flat subscription for our web design consulting. I've attended sales calls and read conversations with existing clients when we switched our approach, and I've seen how prospects receive that shift - including their reservations and no-goes.
Remote work
I have experience working with small teams remotely. I'm happy to share my observations and common problems we faced. I can also provide a semi-contrarian perspective, as we have seen great success with primarily office work at NerdCow - but that has a lot to do with our culture, and the results will vary.
SEO
Since 2018, I've been using non-technical SEO foundations in my job - both internally and externally. I'd feel most comfortable advising founders that aren't experienced in SEO beyond the "mainstream" content about it, who are just starting. I can help you prioritise the basics for the most impact, especially under 1,000 clicks per month. Keep in mind the outcome of our call will be optimal if you have historical Google Search Console data.
Technology and tools
I have two perspectives here. First one is that of a boutique agency, which has tried the "big names" for our own use, and generally found niche alternatives of tools for most use cases. The second is a perspective of someone who has worked with a number of B2B companies, using their tool stack, observing inefficiencies and quirks about different tools.
User research
User research and testing is a key part of my role. Our agency never delivers a large website project without user testing, and we frequently test even the smallest features before committing. I can help you with user research methodologies, resources, types of user tests for various problems and general rules of the craft.
Venting frustration
I'm a keen listener with an interest in psychology. I considered switching from software engineering to psychology at uni, but ultimately got into marketing first and psychology has stayed with me in this form. I'm a critical thinker, allegedly neurotypical, happy to offer an impartial perspective on anything related to business and marketing.
Toolkit

Confluence
7 years of experienceI've used Confluence from 2020 to 2024 as a user and administrator, setting it up for a small web design & development team. Confluence was briefly the main destination for our evergreen, internal content such as processes and handbooks.

Figma
6 years of experienceI have a basic understanding of Figma, from a non-designer standpoint. I've used it when doing quality assurance of our websites, and I use it to design simple social media assets.

Maze
7 years of experienceI've used Maze and other user testing platforms to set up and analyse tests, such as open and closed card sorting, tree testing, and other. It's an integral part of our process, as we validate most of hypotheses before committing resources to development.

Microsoft Clarity
4 years of experienceI use Microsoft Clarity as a free alternative to Hotjar for heatmaps and session recordings. It's a form of quantitative and semi-qualitative data when finding and solving website problems.

Miro
6 years of experienceI've used Miro when facilitating remote workshops for NerdCow. We have set up a number of templates for different workshops and used it to brainstorm internal processes.

Sparktoro
6 years of experienceI've used SparkToro occasionally in its free version for basic queries, e.g. finding journalists to pitch a topic. I'm up-to-date with their product and capabilities, but don't have a big enough need for the product to be a paid subscriber. I'm happy to introduce you to its audience research capabilities.

UserInterviews
7 years of experienceWe use UserInterviews as one of the platforms of choice for user testing. I've helped set up user tests and screening questionnaires on the platform, choose a pool of testers, and analyse the tests.
Google Analytics
9 years of experienceI use Google Analytics on a weekly basis. It's a tool that helps me find quantitative signals about issues on websites, which we later confirm qualitatively.
Google Tag Manager
9 years of experienceI managed Google Tag Manager for all of our clients. This includes a compliant cookie consent mechanism based on Tag Manager that I created for NerdCow and our clients.
Hotjar
9 years of experienceI used the full Hotjar capabilities - heatmaps, user feedback, surveys, session recordings. NerdCow has a case study featured on the Hotjar website based on our success with the platform - you can read it in the "Content" part of my GrowthMentor profile.
JIRA
7 years of experienceI've used Jira from 2020 to 2024 as a user and administrator, setting it up for a small web design & development team. That included automations, workflows, task types, using plugins, and generally customising the entire platform to our needs.
Wordpress
9 years of experienceNerdCow uses WordPress as a base for our bespoke websites. We remove all the bloat before developing custom components. I am fully familiar with the administration experience on WordPress - including the standard interface, bespoke components, and popular page builders and plugins.
Industries
SaaS
At NerdCow, we work exclusively with B2B companies in SaaS and tech. I have experience collaborating with marketing, sales, and CS teams in tech companies. I've participated in projects from all verticals involving these teams - user research, content, ads, and more. I also frequently engage with stakeholders, e.g. for prioritisation and value estimation.
