Bio

During the last 25 years having founded multiple companies, successfully exiting four of them, I’ve learned a lot about entrepreneurship. I’ve been fortunate to have had two different businesses qualify for the Inc 5000 list and have experience in both bootstrapping and raising outside venture and growth capital. I've raised money from angel investors as well as from both venture and private equity firms. I’ve started businesses on my own as well as with Co-founders. Before becoming an entrepreneur I worked at a fast-growing tech startup that went public, and I also started and operated a small business during college that allowed me to pay my own way through college.

Expertise

  • Advice on funding

I have experience in both bootstrapping and raising outside growth capital. I’ve raised pre-seed, seed round and Series A funds from Angels, Venture Capital Firms and Private Equity Firms. I have created one page teasers as well as pitch decks. I have also done a number of Angel investments so I understand what sophisticated investors are looking for when they invest. My favorite book on the topic: Venture Deals

  • Bootstrapping

I have bootstrapped multiple companies to profitability and eventual exit. Bootstrapping takes an intelligent approach, hard work and a commitment to manage the business in a fiscally sound manner. Bootstrapping in many ways in looked at as old school, and for some fast-growing start-ups it is sometimes not viable due to the cash requirements of hyper-growth. I can consult on a balanced approach. My favorite book on the topic: Profits are not Everything they are the Only Thing

  • Go to market strategy

My extensive experience as a serial entrepreneur and startup advisor makes me well-equipped to provide valuable go-to-market advice. My track record of founding over half a dozen companies, with two qualifying for the Inc 5000 list multiple times, demonstrates my ability to launch successfully and scale businesses in competitive markets.

  • Growth marketing

My experience spans over 25 years as a serial entrepreneur, startup advisor, and investor. I have a deep understanding of various growth strategies and their practical implementation across different business stages and industries. Entrepreneurial Success: I have founded more than six companies, successfully selling four of them. Diverse Growth Strategies: My growth marketing expertise encompasses both bootstrapping and leveraging outside capital.

  • Mindset coaching

If you’re new to entrepreneurship, I can relate as I was once new to it as well. However, during the last 25 years having started 7 companies and selling 4 of them, I’ve learned a lot about entrepreneurship. Adapting, being resourceful and frankly just figuring IT out! I can share my experiences with you on mindset and what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. My favorite books on the topic: The E-myth Revisited and Scaling Up!

  • Product market fit

I have created and built software products to be deployed as both SaaS (off-prem) and Enterprise (on-prem). I have overseen multiple product enhancements and feature/functionality updates. I have found success in working closely with customers and buyers to identify the minimum viable product (MVP) feature/functionality requirements. I like the books "Lean Startup" and "Getting Real" for MVP and useability approaches to product development.

  • Sales

My background in bootstrapping and raising outside capital showcases my versatility in adapting sales approaches to different business models and stages of growth. I combine my marketing background with computer science knowledge to provide insights on leveraging technology to enhance sales effectiveness, such as implementing CRM systems and data-driven sales strategies
