I have a degree in Psychology and in a previous life I was a Psychology teacher and tutor, based in London, for 8 years. I founded Tutor House, an online B2C tutoring Marketplace, in 2012. In 2019 we raised £1.4million investment at a valuation of £3m. I sold the company in 2022, after ten years of running it. I'm highly experienced in Start Ups, B2C scale ups, raising capital and managing teams.

  Advice on funding

  I was the only founder of Tutor House and singlehandedly raised £1.4 million from a UK investor off a valuation of £3 million. I applied to over 100 funds in the UK and abroad, I did over 60 pitches and received 3 offers for funding. I designed all the pitch decks and undertook all the pitches myself.

  Building a team

  Built a team from just me to over 18 employees whilst acquiring users from both side of the marketplace. I conducted all interviews, job specs and roles within the company and also headed all internal and external meetings. Working on everything from employees appraisals to meeting with investors and the executive board.

  10+ years focusing on user acquisition via SEO and Organic traffic. Including keyword analysis, keyword gap planning and structuring SEO content for users.
