Bio

I spent several years at Brex leading the go-to-market strategy for their SaaS offering, and have recently worked on GTM and messaging with Route (B2B2Commerce), Ashby (B2B HR tech), Welcome Tech (B2C fintech), Intuit, Second Spectrum (B2B sports tech), and Fullscreen (martech). Before falling in love with PMM work, I was a full time product manager at startups such as Fullscreen (acquired by Warner), Fandango, and Gerson Lehrman Group, and in my early days I worked as a technical project manager for New York City agencies such as the Board of Education, Taxi and Limousine Agency, and Office of Environmental Coordination. **** Areas where I can help: - Designing and validating product-market fit - Market discovery and validation - Creating and prioritizing your ideal customer profile - Messaging and positioning foundations - Go-to-market and sales enablement playbooks - How to design and run a PMM function at any stage - Pitch-deck and fundraising guidance - Becoming a fractional executive / starting a consulting business As an example, I love questions like: "We're early stage and are gaining some traction, but we don't know where to prioritize, what signals we should be looking for, or what customer audience to focus on."

Expertise

  • Advice on funding

Currently working with startups on their sales pitch - not just pitch materials and public presentations (although I'm a great "tear down" resource), but strategizing which funding to take, what investors to approach, and judiciously leveraging my network to make warm intros to potential funders.

  • Career guidance

After being laid off during maternity leave (no, really!) I converted into a fractional consultant and haven't looked back; I've had several career shifts in my time and can help coach you on what's next for you: https://strategicpivotery.substack.com/p/approaching-fractional-work-as-a

  • Content marketing

I’ve worked with several marketplace businesses (B2B2C) on monetization, creating a paywall (transition from free to freemium/premium), content marketing and acquisition, and BD/strategic partnerships.

  • Go to market strategy

I spent several years at Brex leading the go-to-market strategy for their SaaS expense management offering, and continue to do fractional PMM leadership work with B2B companies such as Ashby and Route.

  • Idea validation

I love questions like: "We're early stage and are gaining some traction, but we don't know where to prioritize, what signals we should be looking for, or what customer audience to focus on."

  • User research

I've conducted every type of research: customer, prospect, win/loss, competitive, trend, brand awareness and perception, to name a few. I've created a package I use for B2B companies looking to validate their current or future market.

  • Venting frustration

I've been at many toxic workplaces and have written about my experience here; I'm a thoughtful, active listener who will help you come up with productive ways to cope and problem solve: https://strategicpivotery.substack.com/p/2024-the-year-of-opting-out
