I'll work with you to understand the challenge you are trying to overcome. I'll do this by asking questions, assisting you in setting up action plans and accountability, and most importantly, building skills and self-confidence.
The entrepreneurial journey can often be a lonely one so sometimes it's just good to have someone to talk to. Even following career track can present similar challenges and you need to look outside of your organisation for impartial advice and mentorship.
Technology by itself is not a silver bullet. This is why it's so important that the necessary business processes and skills are applied alongside your chosen technology, to meet your business objectives and to maximise your investment in the tools and technology.
Whether it's a bootstrap start-up or a multinational corporation, I can help with the right technology and tools to support your business objectives. This means understanding the challenge or opportunity at hand and how the right tools and technology (along with people and process) to help.

I have joined a dynamic techology consulting company to establish and grow their business consulting capability. This includes designing the consulting products that we'll be delivering, growing the consulting capability and capacity, and working with customers to help them deliver their business transformation programmes.
Hitachi Consulting acquired Information Management Group in 2014. As part of the larger Technology Services function, I lead the Business Analysis and Change Management practice which works with the Analytics, Digital, and Enterprise Applications practices to deliver solutions to our customers. My role has been to establish this Practice and grow it in capacity, skills, and competencies - by delivering value propositions such as Business Analysis, Business Process Review and Improvement, Business Change Management, Information Management and Business Intelligence Strategy, and Business Intelligence Competency Centre design and implementation to customers. I also lead customer engagements and a number of pre-sales activities.
As part of the larger Service Delivery function, I was key in establishing this practice and capability to support other delivery areas of the business such as Business Intelligence, Enterprise Content Management, and CRM.
Managing consultant, leading and implementing business change and improvement, specifically in the Mobile Network Operator industry. I was also part of the organisation's senior management team and contributed to the definition and execution of the organisation's strategy. Blue Platinum Consulting was acquired by Enterprise Outsource Holdings.
Freelance Management Consultant specialising in Business Intelligence and Telecommunications, where I played a key role in the delivery of an Enterprise Data Warehouse to Africa's largest Mobile network operator, by leading the business stream.
Analysis, design, architecting, and delivery of Business Intelligence solutions. During this time I also led the establishment of the Corporate Performance Management practice.
The client, co-headquartered in the USA and UK, had grown through acquisition. As a result of this, there was no unified approach to delivering analytics and reporting to the broader business. I defined a strategy, architecture, and detailed implementation plan to operationalise the strategy. This led to the implementation of a common strategy and architecture, leveraging the existing skills, technologies, and other resources. The benefits of this were insight-driven decision making, an improvement in data governance, and a reduction in delivery times.
The client had a diverse business including food retail, online electrical goods, pharmacy, banking, and a loyalty scheme. At a group level there was no clear view of customer demographics or behaviour. This made it very difficult to provide improved propositions and experiences for customers. I led the delivery of a single customer view data solution that consolidated and matched customer data from across the various business units and provided a level of customer analytics on top of this. The outcome was that the client was able to better understand customer behaviour across the business and this lead to the provision of better products and services to drive a greater share of wallet.
The General Data Protection Regulation was written into law in 2016 and becomes enforceable from 25 May 2018. Any organisation that handles personal data is required to comply with this regulation. The project addressed a number of areas such as risk reviews for projects, customer engagements, and supplier contracts, to identify any improvements for the management of personal data. In addition, all policies were updated and a number of new ones created to ensure the compliant handling of personal data. In addition to organisation complying with the law, this project has built increased trust from employees and customers, there is an improvement in the quality of data e.g. sales contacts, the improvement in a number of business processes, and the achievement of a new British Standard.

Well....I archived my help request on growthmentor after speaking to Günter. If that doesn't speak volumes, I don't know what does! My problem was highly personal but I felt comfortable sharing it with him very explicitly. He was patient, and structured in his approach. Günter brought in a perspective that I hadn't considered before. He literally took printouts of the resources that I had shared before our call to ensure that we covered everything. I really hope that more people take the opportunity to speak to him :)
Günter helped a lot by his advice on measuring tangible and intangible benefits, weighting various opportunities. Definitely recommend him if you need help with making a deecision
Gunter is a pleasure to talk to. He's very patient and a great listener. I look forward to further sessions for sure!
Gunter gave exactly the insight I needed to ask the right questions of a lawyer on GDPR. Thanks again!
Above and beyond! Gunter provided insights based on his experience in selling online courses and got me on my toes to explore new ways of differentiating my offer by using platforms he already tested.
Gunter was friendly, encouraging and helpful. I am to automate my process and he helped me think through my current process more clearly. One of his suggestions was to make a mind map of my process, which I did right away. It really helped my team to see the process and helped me to decide which might be able to be automated.
Really useful chat, helped a lot in terms of thinking how to build our business case
Günter helped me a lot to understand, how to connect two interesting fields for me instead of choosing on of them. During the conversation, I've got new ideas and got confirmation of some of my ideas and also got energy to work. Definitely recommend him as a mentor.
Very helpful sounding board session, with useful ideas and good clarification around my focus and priorities
Gunter was really helpful in brainstorming around my idea of digital marketing courses. He gave an interesting perspective and very business-focused point of view on the project. I got some really useful ideas from our session.
I enjoyed my chat with Gunter! He was really friendly and helpful and gave me ideas on how to manage my time better. He also offered to share resources on the scrum methodology.
So, this was my first session in this amazing platform. Have you experienced that feeling when you talk to someone that has already experienced your challenges, and can guide you through? Well, Günter responded to my help request, fully understanding my questions and helping me start with Wordpress. He was incredibly friendly, and even supported me afterwards with some tricky questions. I highly recommend him.
Gunter is a great listener. He helped me validate the path we are on and affirm priorities and focus. He has a broad perspective. It was time well spent! I am grateful.
Had a great call with Gunter to vent a bit about overwhelm. Running a startup and juggling a fulltime job isn't easy, and sometimes you just want to talk to someone!
