Bio

For the last 15 years, I have worked as a Serial Entrepreneur, launching several remote businesses in the services and software industries that have reached excesses of a million dollars in sales. My portfolio businesses are here: https://zez.am/DavidSchneider After quitting my corporate job I went digital nomading around the world and visited over 60 countries in 5 years. I bootstrapped NinjaOutreach, an influencer marketing platform, and LessChurn, a churn reduction software, to successful exits. Lately, I operate as the CEO and founder of Shortlist, an inbound marketing agency, as well as two software products in the organizational management space: Inspirar.io and UseFocus.co I'm always looking to connect with talented entrepreneurs, expand my network, and lend a hand where possible.

Expertise

  • Bootstrapping

I bootstrapped NinjaOutreach to a 20 person company over the course of 4 years. I'm well versed in how to grow a business on a budget, and ways to save money and be more efficient with cash to increase your runway. All of my businesses have always been bootstrapped.

  • Building a team

I've recruited probably over 100 people across my organizations over the years including designers developers marketers and copywriters. I've used sites like upwork and also conducted one on one interviews and set up the company infrastructure such as how we communicate and work together as a team

  • Content marketing

I run an inbound marketing agency and we do a ton of content marketing for clients. But on top of that we've always executed content marketing for ourselves as a growth channel.

  • Conversion rate optimisation

Our agency offers website design and development services, so CRO is always a part of the discussion. I understand what makes websites and copy convert and am happy to critique yours.

  • Copywriting

I've built or contributed to dozens of websites, often writing the copy myself. In addition to that I've written emails, descriptions for info products, and more.

  • Customer success

When I ran NinjaOutreach I was in charge of the customer support team and continue to do customer support for my SaaS products that I own today. Happy to help!

  • Design / UX

While personally not a designer I have worked with many UIUX designers and with some of my software apps have designed features including the flow and how they should work.

  • Email marketing

I've written newsletters, onboarding sequences, promotional materials and more. I'm familiar with a number of email marketing software too such as Drip, Aweber, Mailchimp, and more.

  • Go to market strategy

I've launched probably close to a dozen different businesses, some were successful, some not so much, but I learned a lot along the way. Combined with 10+ years of marketing experience I can advise you on what channels will be most optimal for your strategy.

  • Growth marketing

I've been a growth marketer for 10+ years and also worked with and hired many others. I have worked with companies in numerous stages such as small bootstrapped boutiques and large funded enterprises. I've worked with SaaS, Ecommerce, Blogs, etc.

  • Idea validation

Let's talk about your idea. Idea validation is tricky and it does require talking with your target marketing intimately. You have to find a need and a pain.

  • Link building

ShortList.io is a link building agency where we help clients build links through white hat outreach. If you have questions on how to build links, I've run dozens of campaigns and tested many different approaches such as guest posting, resource page link building, scholarship link building, infographics, etc.

  • Marketing automation

I'm a growth marketer with 10+ years of experience and while I have a team nowadays I did a lot of hands-on work myself back in the day that is still relevant, including setting up various marketing automation tools, flows, etc.

  • Mindset coaching

10 years of entrepreneurship and I've learned a thing or two about mindset and the struggles that go along with running your own business. Come at me with your best!

  • Pricing strategy

I have sold software for $20/month and services for $10000/month and everything in between. Do I know a thing or two about pricing? I would hope so. Let's talk.

  • Product management

I have been the head of product for all of my SaaS products and typically am working with at least a few developers, setting priorities and deciding the roadmap.

  • Product market fit

This is what it's all about - how do you know when you have it, or how to measure it? It's a tricky thing and I've gone through this multiple times with my products and services.

  • Product marketing

I've run 4 SaaS products and was typically in the product marketing / head of product role for all of them. Most of the products I ran were for around $100/month, sometimes a bit less or more.

  • Productized services

Shortlist is a productized service for linkbuilding after transitioning from an agency. I can discuss the pros and cons of these different types of service models.

  • Remote work

My teams are always remote, usually consisting of managing teams of 20+ individuals. Often these are outsourced teams from around the world. I've used dozens of remote tools in the process.

  • SEO

I run shortlist, which is a productized service for SEO and linkbuilding. I have scaled it from nothing to over a million dollars in sales, without any investment whatsoever.

  • Sales

NinjaOutreach was an outbound marketing tool. I've done hundreds of outreach campaigns to influencers, leads, etc and have spent a lot of time with tools in the outreach space and perfecting the process around outreach. I'm happy to share the tips and tricks I've learned in this space.

  • Technology and tools

I've used dozens of tools as an entrepreneur and built a few as well. I'm not a coder or a designer, but have worked with quite a number of them. Happy to provide whatever insights I can.

  • Venting frustration

Anyone who has been in business for a few years should be capable of dealing with this topic. Additionally I have a wife and two kids, so, frustration is a daily part of life.
